Derived from a Germanic name, war "guard" combined with heri "army" => army defender

Uhm, tortured army defender bearing a crown?

My dad always calls me by an ancient version of my second name, most people I know have a different name for me than my given name and I thank them for that.

No.

That it's spelled oddly and that it sounds elegant when pronounced differently.

That it's a common boring name.

Nope. The origin is generally unknown. All the explanations where misadaptions and misinterpretations by both Greeks and Romans.

ah well. nevermind. i will continue to think of my name as meanign pure... even though it doesn't describe me well at all. but hekate is cool too.
