Okay, when did LJ stop showing special characters? This really sucks! I mean, I can live with this now, but what about people who have journals in German or French or any other non-English language? Besides, how is one supposed to do cute emoticons? I can't even do the eyebrow-lifter or the concerned frown anymore! This is VERY sucky!!!

they didn't stop showing special characters; They just switched the coding they use. If you go to your 'edit profile' page, there's an option to switch all past characters to whatever-encoding you want. It'll do it all for you too.

Hey thanks! It worked! Found and changed it. Geez, nice to know that they just change stuff like that. And I thought I'd be informed by adding LJ_maintenance to my friends. -.-
