Somehow it really bothers me that the Doctor actually *sees* Jack running towards them and he tries to make a quick get away! Unless I'm misinterpreting that look and zoom on the Doctor's face, but I doubt it! He IS looking on the screen, isn't he? What has Jack ever done to him? If anything, it would be the other way around! Unless of course the Doctor was afraid of being taken revenge on? But then again, we're talking about the guy who holds idle chats with Daleks, so I really doubt that D:. *miffs* I love the Doctor, but when I have to choose I'm going to pick Jack. My poor Jack... *pets* It really bothers me is that the Doctor didn't pick him up as we thought (well, spoilers already suggested otherwise, but seeing is believing), but it rather was an accident. Where's the loyality to your former companions, man???

Of course, only Jack would be able to cling outside of the Tardis while it's travelling. He's probably going through a thousand lives that way... haha. Although I will admit that the acting is just the tiniest bit over the top, don't you think? ^^;;; What's with all the yelling and D: faces? Also, it amuses me greatly that Jack has this neat backpack all ready to go. Haha...

Here, if anyone wants to check it out. Might get shot down by the BBC soon though...

Oh, that's an interesting clip. Thanks for linking to it!

Hmm, it does look as if the Doctor is rather anxious to get away from Jack, doesn't it? I wonder what that's all about... (Of course, Jack is bound to ask questions, which will eventually leads to talking about Rose, and the Doctor has made quite clear in his talks with Martha that he's not ready for that.)

Hm yes, maybe that was it, but it's still annoying and upsetting and all D:. They could share their grief or something! *mutters complains*

Everyone deals differently with grief, though. It can pull people tighter together, but it can also drive them apart. (Actually, The Velocity of Gary deals with that in a great way!)

But maybe that's not even what this is about. The trailer/preview might very well be misleading. Wouldn't be the first time.

Yah, so, tooottally freaked out right after watching with this exact same complaint. Like, word for word. Except I was screaming it into my phone (to a friend who totally doesn't care for Doctor Who, no less.) "OMGz, HOW COULD HE HAVE JUST LEFT ANYWAY?!! WHY WOULD HE HAVE DONE THAT?! MAYBE HE DIDN'T SEEEE!!!" And. Yeah. I'm going to be fairly out of my mind until Utopia airs.

Is it bad that I'm almost looking forward more to Utopia than I am to my own high school graduation? Heh. Oops.

My apologies if this isn't the right way of handling this, but I'm a real novice at LJ.

I followed a link from Jantolution for your story When In Rome to your LJ, but I seem your fic is friends only. Can you friend me please, so that I can read it?

Hi ya! Yes, I saw you adding me, but this happens a lot and most of the time I have no idea where these people come from and what they want and they never comment so I usually ignore it until they say something. Which you did and since you were asking so nicely I added you *g*. But this is my private journal, so I don't know how interesting this will be to you. If you want to know when I update with fics and the like you probably best friend my writer's journal, not_gold. But I'm always happy to make new acquaintances, so welcome! ^^

Oh and since you seem to be after When in Rome, it's over here: http://community.livejournal.com/not_gold/11291.html

Thank you very much for your response. As I said, I'm a novice at this LJ stuff, and I'm bumbling my way around, sometimes into brick walls.

I have "friended" not_gold, as you suggested. Please don't be offended, but because I only have a basic LJ with a limited number of friend slots to use, I have unfriened (?) your private LJ.

Love your animated icons and the longer clip on YouTube: very well done!

I wonder if Jack's backpack contains the Doctor's hand in its jar? Jack after all wouldn't know the Doctor grew a new one, and Jack probably thinks he's doing the Doctor a favour returning it so that he can be reattached. Only two weeks to go to find out...

That's okay! Yes, it is unfriending. You friend and unfriend, your friends list is your flist or f-list, a community is a comm, when people yell at you to cut they actually mean an LJ-cut (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75&q=LJ-cut), NSWF means "not safe for work"... Lots of special LJ talk *g*. I understand how confusing this all can be when you're just starting out! If you need any help, let me know. I'm always glad to help out novice LJers.

One thing I notice is that ideally you should post your reply to a comment within the thread. Like right now you basically opened a new comment thread on this post since you probably clicked the "reply" link right after the post. It works anyhow since I got the reply mailed and all and could respond to it, but many times people do this in their own post in a comm for example or when they've actually been talking to someone else in a thread of some post. Then, when you do this, the person who originally made the post (commonly referred to as original poster or OP) gets the comment mailed, but not the person you were talking to and then they might never see it and never reply.

In short, ideally look for the last post in the comment thread and then click the "reply" link there, not on the main post. Or click the "Reply to the comment" link when you get the reply mailed to you. That way, your reply gets added to the thread, everyone who reads along understand that those belong together and the person you were talking to is able to follow the conversation. ^^

I had no idea that basic accounters had a friends limit! Are you sure? That is so nasty! D: What's the limit?

Thanks for the nice comments. I really need to do more animations... *g*

I'm not sure about the hand! Maybe it does... but when you think about it, the clip suggests that the Doctor is only stopping for a couple of seconds, so unless Jack had the backpack all ready to go he wouldn't have been able to make it. Hell, I doubt you can even make it out of the Hub in that time! I'll be interested to see how they solved that... *g*

Thanks for your advice. My eyes are a little bit crossed about the replying options, but I think I have the gist of it: you can reply to a specific post in a thread to perhaps address a particular point in a logical fashion, or the thread in general at the end. Nothing like trial and error to get it stuck in the memory!

Basic accounts have a limit of 25 friends, which I think also includes communities. I presume this limit is an incentive to encourage people to upgrade to an account that includes advertising, or a paid account. I'm happy with the basic option, at the moment anyway. Sort of a try before I buy!

Yeah that's the idea basically. When you want to comment on the post, you open a new comment thread. If you want to comment on someone else's comment, you reply to the comment in question. And when you want to reply to someone else's reply, you do that too. It's not that difficult! *g*

Really, only 25? That's not much O.o. I was wondering about that yesterday and a friend said it was 1000 or so and that seemed surprising as I've been on LJ for over nearly years and even if I had never unfriended anyone ever I probably wouldn't be significantly over 200. But 25 is really a bummer :/.

I've had a paid account for years. I can't imagine going back to normal. *pets LJ*
