This is from Ardveche's 'Educating Alex', a story that I stumbled upon completely coincidentally and really liked. The title is dreadful, but the story is really sweet and nice. The first part was planned as a stand-alone without much meaning and it shows, but part 2 to 4 are wonderful. So witty and funny and romantic and really realistic.

It's about this gay guy, Ryan, sweet and intelligent, who gets a new room mate, Alex, a supposedly straight guy, athletic and popular. As things develop, Alex realizes that he has feelings for Ryan, which confuses him, but then he decides to take a step and breaks up with his girlfriend to confess his feelings to Ryan.

That's where part 1 leaves you with. Then, in part 2, they develop a tender relationship, but Alex is afraid to come out. He really likes being with Ryan, and likes getting physical with him, too, but he's afraid of what his team mates may think. However, realization stikes and he wants to pursue a proper relationship with Ryan.

Well, that's all I'm going to say, but it's really nice! ^_^

I especially love this part:

"

I stayed where I was, and listened to the sound of the bath running, mentally debating whether to go through and join him. I ought to go, if only to make sure he didn't conduct any more experiments in creating life by combining my toiletries. The last bath he had taken unsupervised had featured about twenty distinct ingredients and smelled like a French whore house (as my dear, delightful father would say). He was always doing stuff like that, which was why he wasn't allowed to cook!

"

GREAT story!
