Isaacs' Harry Potter Wait

Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs has no idea if his character will make an appearance in the fourth installment of the magical franchise - and neither do the movie's producers. The British star - who played evil Lucius Malfoy in both The Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber Of Secrets - was not required by new Potter director Alfonso Cuaron for third movie The Prisoner Of Azkaban. But he's still hoping that when fourth film The Goblet Of Fire is made, he will return. He says, "Just as we were finishing Chamber of Secrets, Alfonso Cuaron came along and I got to shake hands with him and that was about it. Then they started Azkaban. I'm sure they had a whale of a time. But I don't know what's happening with Goblet of Fire. I phoned to find out and they said, 'We've no idea, sorry. The scripts are just coming in...' There's 700 pages or something that they have to make a two-hour movie from, so I don't know whether they're going to put Lucius Malfoy in or not. If I thought begging would do any good, I'd be out there every day. But that would probably just irritate them."

WTF?!? How can there be a PoA movie without Lucius?!??!?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I think I'm going to hate this movie. If this is really true! WHAT THE FUCK?!? And don't tell me that fucker is writing him out of GoF as well! This is just so messed up! This fucking sucks!

...

How the heck did they manage to cut him out of the film? I saw its preview already, and I was mortified. I really don't want to see it, because I'm just positive that they've managed to ruin every single aspect that made the book so enjoyable.

I love Jason Isaacs. I'm now pouting along with you.

*pout* I was looking forward to the movie, I do. But I'm only going to end up pissed and disappointed, I know it. I know Lucius' role wasn't substantial in the 3rd book, but then again, it wasn't any more or less in the 2nd! He's supposed to be a trouble maker at first and later he's a lot more important. Characters need to be built up, dammit! *miffs*

And it's Jason Isaacs! Who is just marvelous. He made the second film for me. He looked great with the hair.

Frankly, as I've become increasingly disenchanted with the book series (a direct result of the fifth book, sadly), I've lost my interest in seeing any more of the films. I'll probably go, because my sister will want to go, but I will be viewing much more skeptically, I think.

Wah.

Indeed, the 5th book wasn't so great. A dead give-away for that was that I didn't care one bit that you-know-who (not Voldey!) died. It was written so stupidly that I almost missed it at first and then I just went "Oh... okay". That sucked. But I still love the series. Won't just give it up because of that. The worst thing for me probably is that Draco is such an irreversible asshole now. Not even fanon can fix that ;_;.

I did the exact same thing.

However, afterwards, I yelled, "You bitch!" at the book + nearly threw it across the room. You don't write an entire *book* about a character + then kill him off two books later. Unless he's coming back in some form or the death is the catalyst for some huge & life-altering event that could not take place without it. Like, HP going absolutely bonking crazy + turning to the dark side.

Which I would love, actually.

The worst thing for me probably is that Draco is such an irreversible asshole now.

I know exactly what you mean! I couldn't believe what an absolute prick he was. I have no idea what made her do that to the character. He was always one of my favorites, and now I just want to smack him.

I thought I was the only one who missed that scene at first glance. I thought that long action part there sorta sucked all together; it read like a mystery novel formula, where there's all this build-up to a thirty page fight scene which really just kills a lot of a book for me, 'cause I could care less. It's not intriguing, like the scene in GoF.

The book ruined so many characters for me. I always like Harry, as much as I can like a main character like that, up until this book. The only people I really like at all anymore are Dumbledore and Ron, and Dumbledore kinda took a shot in the foot with that last speech. It may be interesting to see where both Harry and the Dursleys go from here, though-- I think the development with them did the most for me in this book, and of course that disappeared soon as Harry was off to the House of Black.

I think she's been pressured somehow into writing down to more kiddish levels, or decided that's where she wanted to go with it, thus the extremes in many characters now, and overall quality decrease from GoF (my favorite) to OOTP.

Speaking of people shooting themselves in the foot, the hell's with not using Lucius? What about the all-important end of book five? Are they not considering the incredible importance of this? *tears hair out*

I think she's trying to write some kind of high literature and failing miserably.

I also think her editors for the fifth book need to be fired.

After OOtP, I'm hoping that Harry will turn evil + die by the end of the seventh book.

I know what you mean about characters being ruined. Dumbledore really bothered me in this book. I kinda liked Neville. I learned to despise Draco. I felt badly for Snape. I laughed really, really hard at Cho.

I'll miss Lucius.

I won't miss the sixth book. I really don't plan on reading it, unless it's decidedly better.

I'm not giving up. Even if it's a bad read I still want to kno whow it's continuing. I disliked how Neville was kinda forced into a cool character. It was so stupid. Oh and of course that chick who's name I just forgot who has amazing physical features, a skill so far unheard of in any of the books and an awesome name... can you say Mary Sue? I hated her with a passion. TONKS! GRRRRRR! Annoying thing. And I couldn't bring myself to like Moody because THIS ISN'T MOODY! I mean the Moody we got to know and like was a fake Moody and there's NO way in hell any impostor could be so good and then the real Moody is just the same! URGH! And see reply to boixboi's comment for thoughts in Lucius.

I'd say you have some pent up hostility in you, Silv.

If you meant Luna, I'm 100% with you on that one. It's like hse pulled her out of a fanfic somewhere.

Haha. I know people who really liked Tonks. I was entirely indifferent.

Er oops, forgot to add, TONKS! I hated her! Stupid bitch! Nobody had ever heard about this oh so great and special ability she has and of course she's one of a kind and while everyone is fearing for their lives, future and loved ones she has to worry about her GODDAMN HAIR!

Luna I thought was annoying and a little too overfeatured, but I kinda felt sympathy for her. Her roaring hat cracked me up. But yeah, she had something Mary Sueish about her as well, the way she was present all the frigging time >_<;.

Why couldn't Tonks have stayed dead. No, they manage to revive her and Sirius just kinda "drops behind the curtain" after fighting like a loser. *miffs* But he was on a downward spiral anyway, with all his drinking and dwelling on the past. It was kinda understood he had to go. I was angry that by the end I cared more about Mr. Weasley than him. And he did act rather selfishly, wanting Harry to be there for him alone and all. Oh and I totally resented her writing Remus' reaction like that "Oh, he's dead, no biggy, no need to check trala." *miffs more*

Urgh yes that Dumbledore speech... -_- I just wanted to strangle him. Nobody really was good anymore after that... not even Draco. I always found excuses for Draco and now there's really no excuse left. Meh. And Lucius was ruined too. He's no longer the obscure grey eminence. He's just a criminal. And pretty pathetic at that. BLEH! I never saw him as a stupid henchmen. Mehmehmeh...

i can see you really liked the last HP book.. LOL! *g*

and i can be perfectly empathetic too, for i felt similarly about GK3. it's been some time and i'm still not finished ranting about it.. *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

OH YES! Let's rant about GK3!!!!!

For one, WHAT THE FUCK did they think they let Gabriel and Grace end up in bed together?!? And which Einstein had the idea to go 3D when all it really gave you was getting lost and having to use this annoying GPS thing? And what was the deal with that riddle that took about 20 million hours to complete? And did I mention the 3D textures and sprites looked shitty? And why did I have to waste 2 hours on disguising Gabriel and scamming someone for a bike just because he doesn't want to use the lame one?!? And who pays postcards with 50 Francs bills??? And did I mention that Gabriel should leave his paws off Grace? And they killed off the only good character right at the beginning, IMO. I liked that Scot ;_;.

Bullshit of the Sacred, Bullshit of the Damned

>>>For one, WHAT THE FUCK did they think they let Gabriel and Grace end up in bed together?!?
oh yes! oH YESSS!!!! *blech* *blech*
was this character development or rather character devolution, i wonder. it's a crime done to both Gabe and Grace.
btw, how did Mr. Knight so suddenly manage to degenerate into a cheesy two-braincelled embarassing jerkass with a shoddy sense of humor??

>>>And which Einstein had the idea to go 3D when all it really gave you was getting lost and having to use this annoying GPS thing?
talk about effective use of budget! WOW! just why not invest 75% of a limited budget into a useless extra dimension that we're not going to exploit at all anyway??

>>>And what was the deal with that riddle that took about 20 million hours to complete?
just HOW DARE YOU say such about the masterpiece puzzle highlight of gaming history!!???!
(it annoyed the hell out of me..)

>>>And did I mention the 3D textures and sprites looked shitty?
and they even had the nerve to let us hunt for some obscure "footprints in the grass".

>>>And why did I have to waste 2 hours on disguising Gabriel and scamming someone for a bike just because he doesn't want to use the lame one?!?
and just how often do you spray cats so as to make them jump on a sticky tape to get some catfur for a fake moustache? O_o ehm.. what??!

and how the hell can some people say that GK3 had the best story??!! did i miss something? just where exactly WAS a story??!! O_o
but you learn something every day.. i never knew that an NOPD investigator cooperating with FBI can be as brain-dead as to get SOOOOOOOOO mesmerized with a shitty piece of candy that he doesn't notice his passport being pinched by a 6 feet tall guy..
btw, tell me someone.. how do i figure out that at a given time exactly (when i have at least 37 better things to do), i am to take my binoculars and go voyeuristic at a given place, so as not to miss key points of attempted "story development"??

but let's finally climax into the 'Indiana Knight and the Templars of Doom' agonizing underground sequence. *faints*
(go, Asmodeus! yeah! *little dagger out..* *cut! cut!* + WOW! O_O)
From: [identity profile] silversolitaire.livejournal.com
XD! Thank you that felt good.

Although, in all honesty, I found the Templar bit interesting, but that's about it. The whole bit with Jesus and the Templars and Vampires... or am I mixing something up now? I really stopped paying attention after Gabe and Grace did the horizontal mambo...

And yeah, I forgot Mosely. The whole fact that he was there to begin with and the lame explanation for it. And he was just totally retarded. Yuck yuck yuck.

Say, do you happen to speak Czech? ^.^; At least... I think it's Czech...
From: [identity profile] no-ron.livejournal.com
>>>XD! Thank you that felt good.
hehe.. you're welcome.. :)

>>>Although, in all honesty, I found the Templar bit interesting
sure, but that can hardly be considered an original GK idea. it's all just adopted, or literally copied from the RLC lore and additional secret society mumbo-jumbo books and theories.. and so amidst all that flood of info people actually got fooled about the "unbelievable complexity" of the "very elaborate" storyline.
while the only "original" idea was that lame vampire bit and the uber-pathetic Emilio creep..

>>>Say, do you happen to speak Czech? ^.^; At least... I think it's Czech...
yep. it's very similar to my native language. why do you ask?
From: [identity profile] silversolitaire.livejournal.com
Yeah you're right. It's not really GK3's merit... Yikes, I totally forgot about Emilio! XD; Deleted him from my memory! Hahaha...

And I'm asking because I need to research on Svatý Jan Nepomucký and I found some great stuff in a Czech book but I can't even GUESS what the captions mean ^_^;... So some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! But hold the horses, I need to scan / type it first and right now it's late (early classes tomorrow). Gonna do it tomorrow! It's probably really lame stuff like "This picture shows Jan from the left" XD;
From: [identity profile] krss.livejournal.com
May I join in? *jumps up and down*

The Indiana Jones ending! They had Gabe doing all those puzzles like jumping on the chessboard and then they never explain HOW did the turban guy and Mosely get there at the same time as Gabe. I mean, Gabe sinks all those tiles in the process. And not to mention the pendulum room where he sinks the floor. How did the others *pass* it? This is the question that keeps me up at night. XD
From: [identity profile] no-ron.livejournal.com
that whole underground endgame was an uber-BULLSHIT as it was, so i'd never bother with such nuances.. :/
though i wonder.. can you leave footprints in the grass, on a meadow?? O_o or wasn't it grass but earth? i'm not sure anymore, i never replayed..

i'm trying hard to erase GK3 from my memory, but somehow i can't succeed.
the only worthwhile thing was the soundtrack.
From: [identity profile] krss.livejournal.com
I think it was mud. I can't remember clearly, although I do know that the footprints part was where I had to look in a walkthrough.

I liked GK3, even with all these things. I played it before GK2 so maybe it makes sense I liked it.
From: [identity profile] no-ron.livejournal.com
and i remember grass (not cannabis), but i might be wrong.
mud was all over GK2, that i know for sure.. *g*
