Don't mean to be a hit slut, but...

It saddens me that fanfiction.net disabled the hits-feature again. I know, I know. The hits don't say a thing about how many readers you actually got and what they thought about your story, but still... in these times it seems to be the only acknowledgement one gets. My hit/review ratio is lousy, 25/1 or so. If I didn't know the hits I would have thought nobody gives a toss.
I understand Xing's motivations though. Yet, now I fear to post. I'm not a hit slut, but I crave acknowledgment and if I feel like I don't get it I get depressed. And that I don't need. *sighs*
I wish they'd allow java scripts then, for counters. People could get an account at The Counter or whatever, invisible, of course, and track their hits by themselves. But if people do it now, they will get into trouble and violate the TOS. That's no fair... :-(

YOU have a lousy hit/review rate?
