A quick HP hype rant

Yes, you know I love Harry Potter with all my heart. That's no secret. I've been looking forward to this damned book for 2.5 years. I've been waiting and looking forward to it even before it was announced. And now, goddammit, now that I finally have it here, right here, I REFUSE to rush through it as if it was the morning paper on the train. This is like wolfing down an exquisite meal within 1 min. instead of enjoying it. But apparently, everybody and their dog feels the urge to share their oh so deep thoughts on page 486 and following RIGHT NOW and annoy the fuck out of me that way. I don't read that fast on purpose but it still makes me feel stupid when others boast with it. Also, DAMN YOU PEOPLE, you STILL spoil when you post your reaction to something and don't say what it is! When someone says that they laughed and cried and wanted to throw the book out of the window it's still a sort of spoiler! Or boasting "Oh please, not you, oh please!" Even that! Because when people know your posts they might know which characters you favor! It's just not fair! I wish everybody would just shut their damn trap about Harry Potter for the next two weeks and THEN start the lj-cut shit. Jesus H. Christ.

So, I'm sorry that I probably pissed off a good portion of my friends now. But this is just pissing me off beyond belief. I'm basically forced into hermitage if I want to enjoy the book I've been waiting for for years, just because people can't control their hyperness. >_<

Just for reference, one post summing up your reaction to the book is fine and dandy. But really, this whole "Work in Progress" behavior makes me sick and annoyed and makes me want to never check my friends page ever again. Post those private then! The book was just released yesterday and some people want to enjoy it! >_<;;;

Meow! It was just a general rant. I know you did it and other people I appreciate muchly, and I didn't mean to sound as if I was attacking anyone specifically. I'm glad you enjoyed the book and I'll read all your comments once I've finished myself, but it's just frustrating and it's slowly accumulating. Thus the rant. But really, it's not targetted at you at all or anyone in specific, okay? ^_^

^_^; Sorry. Yes, I admit your post was one of the triggers. I understand your annoyance. I do. But that post which I barely scraped across with my eyes before I closed them and hit Page Down really did it. I totally closed my brain to any pondering of which characters you favor because I don't want to get spoiled, don't even want to make any assumption. I'm not hearing you, lalalalalala...

It's just so frustrating, being forced to rush through the book ;_;.

Um, just a thought, but couldn't you just avoid LJ while you finished? Or filter out the people on your friends list who are making HP-related posts?

Yeah I know, I could, but this is a hard step, you know? These people are dear to me and most of them don't post HP exclusively so I want to know what else is going on with them. *sigh* It was really just a rant based on extreme frustration. There's really nothing to be done x_x.
