Wow... BmB really has turned into a gigantic pile of inconsistent sheep shit... If it ever made sense before it just went way out of the window. Okay, that's another one going down the drain.

Edit:

Feel free to disagree. But bear in mind, I'm in a bashing mood right now. I don't hate you just because you still like BmB, okay? And hopefully you don't hate me because I don't. However, if you are one of the ever dreaded fandom sheep, then by all means, unfriendify me. Then again, I have trust in those who actually want to be on my friends list.

What do you mean?

It still makes sense. I mean, we know for a fact that Cy has kissed Skids (which we found out way, way back when), and we've never had any evidence that Skids was in love with anyone.

Sorry, I'm just curious as to what you mean.

Oh come on! Out the blue Skids suddenly is in luuuuuurve! With his BEST FRIEND! While doing things with someone else. Oh no, we've never seen that anywhere else, have we. Okay, sorry, I'm digressing.

Anyway, sure, yes, we had no proof that Skids was actually in love with Cy. Then again, he could be an alien baby placed on earth by parents who had to flee from intergalactical prosecution. We never heard otherwise either. Does that mean it's a eligible plot twist? Oh goody!

Let's face it, it's been running dry months ago, despite all the BiMBos sucking up to it and admiring all those oh so planned plot twist that were obvious just coming out of someone's ass.

That's true, I suppose. Not going to give up reading it though, because lame-ass plot twists or not, I still like it.

I'll just hang out more at Something Positive. *s*

I'm using the anonymous feature simply to avoid conflict. I mean no offense to anyone.

I think there were several hints along the way indicating that Skids did love Cyanide. When I followed the comic regularly, I could have pointed all of them out to you. While you're correct that Cyanide's feelings were remarkably better developed --I always felt Cyanide was the most dynamic character in the strip-- it was certainly arguable that Skids had feelings as well.

The original storyline, as it was related to me by the creator when I knew her, was that C/S was going to be a canon couple by the completion of the comic, but due to pressure from fans and a desire to do new things, she has since abandoned that idea for what she's currently doing.

So if one reads through the earlier strips and compares them to the more recent storylines, it doesn't really make sense anymore. The old subtext can be seen as misleading, and that is something a good writer should avoid. Due to that, from a literary perspective, I feel the comic has lost all merit.

That, and new character have been added that, I feel, add nothing to the comic itself. The central characters, Harley & Mik, stopped showing up as frequently. I think that for BmB to have remained successful, the creator needed to stop allowing other people to influence the content of her comic strip and stuck religiously to her plot line. What she has now is a collection of cameos, one-liners, and inside jokes with very little holding them together.

It's nothing personal, truly; I just cannot appreciate BmB as it exists today.

Yep, pretty much. *sigh* Oh well, I guess. I'll always have my penny arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/).

I think I will miss it, though. Just cause it used to be cute and funny and interesting. And now it's just...crap. Blech.

The worst crap was the sudden transgendered issue. It was highly offensive, IMO. There are people who really have to struggle with their sexuality and gender and here there's some odd female bimbo character from the first issues and BANG! We just make it a transgendered guy since it's so kewl and trendy and ya know. It's so likely, isn't it?

And so true too. I should've stopped reading it when 'Aubrey' first appeared, or at least when the thread about it in the forum SOMEHOW disappeared after I had pointed out the unrealistic-ness of it and my general anger at depicturing the transgender issue in such a way; as someone who actually has to go through the whole process instead of just snapping with my fingers, I felt highly offended.
By now I keep on reading for the sake of Fox/Collin only; even though it was tainted a lot by those roleplay livejournals of theirs that Sandra suddenly acknowledged and supported as almost-canon even though complaining about people taking her characters for real persons quite some times before.
So while I still read it, I have no respect or like for its creator anymore whatsoever except for that tiny bit of managing to produce an enjoyable comic strip at least once out of twenty tries. The Harley/Skids thing was just awful, but at least it was highly unpredictable. Which is something new in that comic, honestly.
Anyway. Yes. The transgender stuff was both ridiculous and offensive.

*noddles* I know! We've talking about this. This is really just so annoying and disrespectful. And thinking how Fox and Collin are such blatant self-insertion I can't really enjoy those either. *twitches*

*prods* Why don't you talk to be anymore? I don't even see you on AIM lately! T_T

I've felt that the comic lost its focus sometime last year, when new characters were introduced and the main plot lines were somewhat disbanded. That's when I stopped reading.

I agree with you there. =P It lost all coherent plot. Mik and Harley were cute, loved that story arc... but the story line kind of seeemed to have got lost in all of the one liners, and it seeemd like Cy and Skids, and the others that ended up being a recent focus just didn't have the same charactor devlopment, or something, about them... Is still a cute comic though, but could use a bit of a re-vamp

I think it reached the end of its rope. No revamping will help there. That's what happens when the artist matters more than the artwork. I've yet to see one instance where this hasn't lead to the total destruction of something that was once nice and enjoyable.

::agrees:: I liked it better about, hmm, a year ago. Harley was always my favorite character--- he's, like anonymous said, showing up less frequently. And that makes me sad. :(

It's obviously lost an overall plot. For the sake of making the Baabaas cheer and worship there are only these odd plot-twists, cameos and in-jokes that'll give the impression of brilliance when it's really just a lack of planning and plot.

*in 100% agreement* Thank you for saying what I've been wanting to for the last half year but haven't quite had the balls to. *sigh* Ugh, I have a big long rant brewing in my head about that comic and the numerous ways in which disturbs me nowadays, but I'll save that for another day. LOL. *calms down* Just, thanks.

Nyahahaha, by all means, share it! I know quite a bunch of people who would love to hear your opinion!

I don't know what happened, but I was just checking out BmB and I ceased to care whether all those fandom sheep would jump at my throat for saying this. I just had to say it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be mean here. I know, it's a free comic, it's someone's free time invested in it, we should be grateful yadda-yadda-yadda. No harm in that. I'd never say anything if it was all that and just that. But this annoying cult around it full of Baabaas that don't realize how much it started to suck and who think every unlikely lame-ass event is an oh so brilliantly planned plot-twist, those really make me think it's eligible for lots of finger-pointing and nyahahahas. ^_~
