This is a rant into the general direction of people. Take heed:

People say they're doing the infamous springcleaning on their friends list. Saying it's not personal if they remove you. Saying they just don't have the time to keep up with the friends entries. HELLO?!? Why is there this neat little invention called filter? I use it, others use it, it's really simple to make a nice private set of friends you want to read when you're short of time and no one will ever know you're filtering them out. Goddamnit, that's at least a bit more subtle than more or less saying openly into your face "I just don't really care enough for you to bother with your pity life when I'm pressed for time." Suuuuuure, it's not personal, but that's how it fucking feels to me. So there. I am a bitch. Fine! SUE ME! Or better, REMOVE ME! Yeah, it's your journal and you can add and remove whoever the fuck you want, but I can be just as hurt. I usually don't ask to be added, but I'm always very grateful about it and most of the time I'm reading your entries with interest. But dropping me like an old sock I never take very kindly. Whether we were close or not. Doesn't matter. So, if anyone cares, remove me right now. I want to save myself the pain of seeing someone drop off my list whom considered more than just an LJ-acquaintance. But don't be too surprised when I hate you then. I'm a hot-tempered, vindicative person. Deal with it.

Hop on and off friendship

Yeah, the hell with arbitrary selection. Heh, slam everybody.

Why Spring, anyway? Is it not the season of new growth, of furthering roots?

LOL, at last, someone who's as neurotic about friends lists as I am ;-)

I know exactly what you mean, though... however much people say it isn't personal, I don't see how you're supposed to take it any way *but* personally when somebody deems your thoughts unworthy of their interest. I mean, it's one thing if the person in question is some twonk whose opinion you didn't care about in the first place, but when it's somebody you wanted to like... eh.

It's hard not to take personally. I mean, even if it is "only online" (I hate it when people say that), it still feels like you're being rejected.

One thing though - you're not coming off of my friends list. You're far too interesting. :)

*hugs you* Well. I'm definitely not going to remove you, sweetie. I can understand that you're hurt. So am I, when I'm removed but when it's nothing personally. "If I have removed you, don't take it personally. It's just because we haven't become friends in the time that you were on my list."

Uhuh. Yeah. Right.
Anyway. I don't know you that well, but if you want to talk to a semi-friend, I'm here for you! *hugs*

because I don't say this enough.

*hugs* I love you. You were one of my first live journal friends, and will always remain as such. There is a reason my own friends list has always been small, and that is because those I consider friends are so special and important to me, they are *real* friends, who would I do anything for.

The term 'spring cleaning' quite frankly is insulting. I hate to think of the day I ever consider friends in such a term.
