The South

It's a place that resembles Louisiana
In Italy
There's laundry spread out on the terrasse
And it's beautiful

They say in the south
The seasons last a long time
And the life for sure
Longer than one million years
And always in summer

There are plenty of children
Who play on the lawn
Lots of dogs, too,
Even a cat, a tortoise, gold fish
There's nothing missing

They say in the south...

One day or another, there'll have to be another war
That we know full well
We don't like that, but there's nothing we can do
They say, it's destiny

The worse it is for the south
But it was nice anyway
We could have lived
More then a million years
And always in summer.
