The 10th Kingdom

corialis rant about The 10th Kingdom, I just had to reply and now I think I never really ranted about this mini-series sufficiently, so I'll just post my reply here for keepsake. ^_^;
Isn't this the worst, suckiest, most disappointing and not-living-up-to-its-promises POS? I watched it all through Christmas last year and in the end I felt totally ripped off. The end! Help me God! "But then something oh so horrible happened that kinda totally negated all the pseudo-happy end shit we just gave you, but we ain't gonna tell you since we never actually thought about WHAT it is in the first place. We just like to pull our viewers' legs, really." >_<
And yes, Virginia was HORRIBLE! Not to mention the fact that I never really felt the slightest twinge of sympathy for her! I mean, come ON! That witch-queen-whatever is her declared enemy all through all the ten parts, she's horrible, unnecessarily cruel (remember when she beheaded the Goblin King???) and purely evil, but then she goes "I'm your father, Luke..." and Virginia turns IMMEDIATELY into the mourning daughter who lost her beloved mother and just can't get over it! ARGH!!! She should have slapped that bitch and said "Well, fuck you! You're as far from being my mother as the Pope!" I guess they thought since it worked with Star Wars they can just go ahead and reprise it. *mumbles*
This saddens me, so much. The whole idea, the whole setup was so so good, it could have been the best mini-series ever and they went ahead and totally ruined it with so many flaws and plotholes and annoyances... Gah. Very depressing. The best thing was the talking mirror, really. >_<... I think it's kinda pathetic that in the end I was only grateful she didn't end up with the prince, something I could have totally expected from them since they had fucked up everything else anyway already. *grumbles more*
