So, in case anybody noticed, classes have started again today. Surprisingly, it all went well and I'm not feeling as hopeless and depressed as I probably should. The day had a couple of stress-inducing factors though.

Annoyance 1) I got up way too late. What was I thinking? I had it planned so well, oh yes, but I had forgotten that by 11 I'd hit the border of the town. Not necessarily the university. So I sped to the train station, hopped on the train, praying to God that he'll let me arrive on time. I actually did.

And he granted my wish, so I dashed into the room 5 mins before they closed sign-up and I threw in my forms at the very last moment. Phew! Good thing, my hang outers Andy and Harry saw me dashing by and later stopped me and we went to a cafe to have a coffee and chat. There, I poured my heart out about my woe of still being in need of a second minor and Harry suggested his, European Ethymology. Since I'm really in need I said okay and we later checked out the blackboards and all. Looks good. I'll go there tomorrow and beg on my knees to be taken in. I can make it in three semesters. That'd be perfect.

Annoyance 2) My new docs (which I still need to break in and I haven't worn at all so far) were totally killing my feet, tearing off the skin of my heels and I brought no other pair of shoes, so I have to grit my teeth and bear it like a man.

Annoyance 3) My pants were cutting into my flesh everywhere. I've gained weight T_T. Need to lose it... NOW!

Annoyance 4) I wanted to work a bit but when I got to the office, it was totally abandoned O.o. I fought my inner demons for a while not to go in there, make tea and surf the net a bit (I have a key and the password XD), then I decided to go home, relax a bit and chat with Tom before hopping on the train again and meet Andy, his girlfriend and about 10 million of their friends to watch Minority Report.

[new paragraph since this wasn't an annoyance at all]

Minority Report is one good movie. Okay, if we disregard the completely silly, non-story related end. If they had ended the movie one minute earlier, it would have been perfect. But disregarding that, it was a great movie. Thrilling and fascinating. Guess I'm gonna ramble about it a bit. I'll warn before I spoil.

What's it about? It's a vision of the future. Washington DC in the year 2054. They have developed a new crime fighting system called PreCrime. It was possible with the discovery of three PreCogs (short for procognitives) who have constant visions of future crimes and no perception of the present. They're floating in a pool of liquid that enhances their visions, drugged and immobile, while they are constantly supervised and their visions are recorded.

When they sense an impeding crime, their visions are being dissected, produced on a screen, scanned and checked to find out the victim's and culprit's names. Then a team is dispatched to stop the crime. The culprit then gets sentenced immediately for commiting a precrime. That way, there hasn't been a single crime in six years.

Tthe story gets an interesting turn when the chief in charge (Tom Cruise's character) investigates a new precrime report and when he is about to find out the culprit's name he realizes it's himself...

Morally highly questionable, absolutely fascinating and scary vision of the future. I found it compelling to watch and despite its length (2.5 h!) it was always gripping. Also, it takes sudden turns several times until you no longer know what to expect and to believe. Cleverly made movie that I'd put into the category must-see!

A good thing is that it mainly avoided display of extreme violence. There are several scenes that promised to be very gory, but it was cleverly avoided, yet without making the viewer feel like they were being patronized.

So, go see! *g*

Aaaaaaah, this takes me back to the times when I used to write movie reviews for a newspaper... *meows*

There's one good thing about being back to school: I get to watch whatever the hell I want! XD

In other news, my finger hurts like a bitch. I must have burned it badly.

My schedule didn't quite work out the way I wanted to. That sucks a bit. The EE department is willing to accept me, but their introductory course is full and it's out of the question to take both courses in one term. However, they opened another course, but the hours are impossible. So, I had to change my schedule all over to squeeze that in. Should work out nicely now.

The Advanced Academic Writing course is very interesting. She's even offering help for the papers we have to write. Yay! Hope I can use that offer! *glees* Tomorrow is my last nerve wrecker where I have to beg to be taken into the Nature Writing course. I hope it works out...

*yawns* Tired... woke up an hour earlier than I need to >_<. I hate that... Dun even know when I have to get up tomorrow... *scratches head* Confusion...

Just looked at the new character designs for Weiß Kreuz. Okay, I can live with Aya and Ken, but Yohji and Omi are plain awful! Omi looks horrible, and Yohji looks like some blonde cowboy dude! *cries* Terrible... *whimpers*
