Terrible Television...

I just saw something on TV that got me very very angry! You know about these stupid shows where they make people do terrible stuff and face their fears and crap. They just showed an excerpt from another country, Spain, I assume, where they apparently wanted a woman to touch a snake blindfold. But she was mortally afraid. She screamed and struggled, but the assistants grabbed her and pulled her towards the basket. She tore herself lose and ran away and they brought her back and then the host took the snake and put it around her shoulders while others held her down. She screamed and cried and fell on the floor, covering her face. It was so terrible! How can people do that?? How can they do that to people who have phobias? It's so terrible. As far as I'm concerned, they raped her. Raped her mentally. And all the while the audience was having a lark, laughing their asses off.

This must have been the most horrific thing I've ever seen on TV...

I can live with the well-give-you-$much-if-you-"face your fears" shows, but you're absolutely right. This. Is. Rape.

Okay, I can understand trying to get her to do it if she agreed to be paid for it. But to continue on with it when she was obviously scared to death... No. Just don't fucking pay her and let her get on with her life instead of doing that to somebody.
