Betas in the house?

Is there anyone on my flist who's willing to beta a Torchwood piece for me? It's Jack / Ianto, pretty smutty, around 25k words long.

I kinda prefer asking people I know for beta. That way I know how to take your comments, as opposed to random strangers who'd respond to a request in a community... I'm still tweaking around on it, but it should be finished pretty soon. I mostly need another pair of eyes to read through, check for stupidly obvious mistakes where my fingers typed something different than what my brain was thinking >.>; or other slips of the finger.

If that fails I'm gonna ask around elsewhere...

Depending on how disciplined I'm going to be I might be able to mail it out tonight or so. I still want to add a bit to some scenes, but that's not that much of a biggy.

It may take me a day or two to get it back to you depending on when I get it. I'm getting overloaded with getting things ready for my birthday party this saturday. But I'll look at it as soon as you get it to me. It'll be my reward for moving furniture. :)

Yes! I noticed it's your birthday tomorrow! I'm almost having a bad conscience for loading it on you then! I'll make sure to get the story out to you tonight then so you can work in your own time. It's done the way it is now, minus the couple of edits but I'll get those in as soon as I stop dicking around online D:.

Not sure what exactly your looking for but I wouldn't mind being another pair of eyes to make sure the plot makes sense and flows, alonging with catching in any obvious errors. I know it does help having someone else read your work, I'll read my story like 10times and seems fine to me but someone else reads and catches an error right away. Us authors know what we want to see on our paper and that's what we tend to see not what we actually wrote :)

Hehe yes, so true... I was amazed when I got my beta back and apparently I had omitted a very necessary word right in the first freaking sentence of the damn story! Would you believe it? You'd think I'd notice that eventually, but NO! I never did. The sentence always made perfect sense to me until Joe got back to me and was like "Uhm, what the hell?" LOL.

Anyway, I appreciate the offer and I might just get back to you some other time. But for now the story's already out and I'm fine! But thanks! :D
