(again, updating as we speak)
Nice opening, I like. Now I reeeeeeally wonder how Jon Stewart will keep up!
Hahahaha okay I already love the opening! *giggles a lot* Truth be told, nobody can be worse than Steve Martin.
And there's the mandatory anti-Bush jab, 2 mins into him hosting. It was bound to happen. Not that I mind. Hehehe... The piracy comment was good. "There are women out here who can barely afford to cover their breasts!"
LOL @ Björk comment.
Yeah I've always said that cowboy movies have obviously gay undertones. I mean, have you ever watched Red River? Seriously... hehehe. Awesome montage. Funny comment about Charlton Heston looking like he had lifted 20 Commandments XD;.
Why am I even doing this? Experience shows I'll never read this again. Oh well...
Of course, supporting actor coming up first again. Just just always need to fire this one off immediately. I wish Gyllenhall got it, but let's be honest he's not the best of the lot. I just like him, he's cute. And the winner is... George Clooney. That's okay. I approve of that, too. *g* Oh yeah and now I'm having a conversation with bro how he didn't even think Clooney was only a supporting actor when he's being advertised with all the time. Uh, because he sells? Geeze... hehehe.
Hahahaha @ trombone pushing Hanks off stage... and the violin... and a tranq! hahahaa
I just love Ben Stiller. He's so funny. I don't know why people keep comparing him to Adam Sandler. NOT the same. At all. Sandler is a retard.
Ooooh visual effects. Next to art direction my favorite Award. I think it'll go to King Kong. And it goes to... King Kong! Woohoo!
Okay, I lied, my other favorite Award is Animated Feature film. Again, I want it to be someone who probably won't get it. It being "Corpse Bride" this time. But the nominees are all so awesome, so it's really hard. And it goes to... Wallace and Gromit. Oh well, that's okay, too.
See this is why I suck at making Oscar prediction, because I always want people to win, not judge objectively. That's why my predictions usually are wrong. Hehehe...
OMG that explains Dolly Parton's presence on the red carpet earlier. And... she actually looks a million times better now than she did at the red carpet where her tits were bursting her dress. She should have walked the red carpet like that. Like Diane Keaton did a couple of years back... Yes, that was cool. Randomly, she's way too thin for such a bust. It just looks kinda... unharmoneous. But maybe that's just me.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaw the Wilson brothers, so cute *g*.
No opinion on that Award. What the hell was it anyway? Oh yeah, live action short film. Funny, those awards are always the ones that are the most influential for people's careers, those and all the technical stuff, and yet nobody cares about them really. It's just so difficult. Where DO you get to see those short movies anyway?
I love animated short films but I never get to see the nominees in time, so again, no opinion. Still waiting for the day when some fo the guys get nominated who enthrall us with their flash movies now. Ehem... okay I totally didn't get that. Who won? The sound was messed up. Oh, Moon and the Sun, okay.
Oooooh costumes. I want Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to win. No, I'm not slanted towards Tim Burton at all. Hm but who will win? I have no idea. I can't see why Pride & Prejudice win, it's just so... regular. Same with Walk the Line. Hm... Memoirs of a Geisha. Yeah, that works.
Oooooh biopic feature. Love it. Interesting that bro asks whether they've introduced a biopic category now XD. It HAS become rather a trend, hasn't it.
WTF @ Will Ferrell... XD;;; OOOOH! Skillful make-up use! ahahahhahaa! That takes a lot of courage to do. Yay for lots of gay movies being nominated. First we get the Clooney / Stewart skit and now that! I first didn't see what was wrong with the other guy! XD; I mean, Ferrell was obvious, but him? >.>;;; Then the close-up and he was all pale and had those horrible eyelashes... ahahhaha.
ZOMG that faun dude from Narnia totally looks different! What a surprise O.o;. Sorry to say that Palpatine hardly looks any different >.>;;;. Aha, Narnia won. Okay. There goes the mandatory Narnia Oscar *g*.
Hey, here we have all the really important Oscars. The career changing ones. And again they're been sorta hushed through without the audience. But I guess it's a good thing. We don't want the Oscars to take hours after all. It's long enough as is. *tired already*
What the hell was that? Weirdo slip by Morgan Freeman o.o;. Best supporting actress coming up, yay. Who will it beeeeee? Not Rachel Weisz please. It could be Michelle Willaims, but I just hate her character and I just don't like her personally. Haha, skewed again. And it is...? URGH!!!!!! Rachel Weisz! Fuck it. I mean, she's great and all, but THAT movie? Meh...
That's the second award slipping out of BBM's grasp. And I daresay the best supporting actress was pretty much considered a certain one. Mew... hope that's not a trend.
Oooh what do you know. Lauren Bacall herself. She's still a cat. Too bad she's always so loudmouthed lately about who's a diva in her eyes and who's not. But she's still awesome. But what the hell is wrong with her? O.o Did she forget her reading glasses? Man... Film Noir feature. They just don't make movies like that anymore. *hearts them* It pleases me that I've seen most of the movies in that montage XD;. Yay for movie geekness.
LOL I love those mock mudslinging campaigns XD;;;.
"Pimp, sorta like an agent with a better hat." hehehe...
Okay, another award I have no opinion on. Moving on. LOL @ Clooney's face though.
Yay, documentary feature. I can't imagine March of the Penguins winning this one O.o;;; ZOMG March of the Penguins DID get it. WTF? Are they buying into the hype now? I mean yeah it was nice and all and the makers sacrificed a lot, but dude that's just not Oscar material. But they're very cute about accepting the award. I hate it when people apologize for their English. Let them hold their acceptance speech in French and see how the average Merkin gets along. -.-
LOL What was that? "In case of a fire guests are requested to not leave in slow motion"?
Yay, art direction. I like them all. I'll take any. Okay, Memoirs of a Geisha AGAIN? -_____- That's gotta be one hell of a movie.
Woohoo, Samuel L. Jacksan, da man himself! Without snakes, hopefully. XD;
*sighs* I really love movies...
Huh... I just had the distinct impression of Jon Stewart = Kermit the frog. No clue why O.o. God I'm so tired... x.x I really hope they don't overdo it today. The TV guide says 5 AM. I so hope that's true. I slept horribly again last night and I can barely keep my eyes open. But must... watch...
I totally agree with what this guy, the director of the Academy, said. It's just really important to watch movies on the big screen. Everything he said. Eye-enveloping screens, darkened theater, sound coming from all sides... heck, even the sharing the experience with total strangers bit. That's just what movies is about and as much as I love collecting DVDs, it's not the same and one day I shall strive to have a theater of my own! *swings fist* Okay, just kidding. A good projector will do too. Hehehe...
Wow I really liked that guy's rendition of the Brokeback Mountain score. I want them to wiiiiiiiiiiiiiin. But I bet it will be the stupid Geisha flick again >.<;. AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!! *dances* The music of BBM really is great and I love it that they at least brought back home this one! ^^ Hm wait... isn't that guy the same one who wrote the music to Talented Mr. Ripley? I'm not sure but that's just what it struck me as.
Aw, Jake Gyllenhall, isn't he adoreable. *pets* But what is it with the constant drumming up for support for theaters? I mean, it's not like the people who don't care about movies enough in the first place and just go ahead and buy the DVD once it's out instead will watch these ardent pleas and be convinced. It's more like they're beating a dead horse here. We love movies, that's why we watch this award show, dammit!
Uh, zoned out for a second. What was that that King Kong won? Ah sound mixing. Okay, that works. LOL, gorilla uh-uh-uh-uh-uh!!! XD;
Okay maybe I'm just getting really tired, but this part is just dumb and annoying -.-. Lily Tomlin and Meryl Streep, go home. Don't waste my time you retards. -.-;;;;;; What is this, lifetime achievement? Yeah that's good, bore the audience out of their skulls before presenting the fucking award. JUST SHUT UP BITCHES!!!!!!!! God, that got me this close to switching the damn tube off. Ah so it's Robert Altman. Haha, could tell it just by the movie titles. I'm such a geek. Aw clip from The Long Good-Bye. That's such a good movie. I really need to see it again soon. Heeeh, MASH theme.
Wow this is really disjointed and annoying to read. I hope nobody actually DOES read this O.o;. It's just a memory protocol for myself and not meant to tell the world who deeply profound my thoughts on movies are x.x. I can't be profound when it's past 4 AM and I've only slept like 5 hrs the night before. *yawns* And still no pancakes.
Wow that was a refreshingly short speech for a lifetime achievement award. Thanks Robert.
LOL orchestral rap. And I thought I had seen it all when Eminem performed on the Academy Awards.
Man... I'm starting to think they won't clock in at 5 AM...x.x. They still have like half to go. Good God. My brain is about to shut off.
ZOMG that rap song got the Oscar? Bleargh... didn't like it at all. WTF are they drunk?
More lobbying clips, yay. *tired*
Okay sound editing is cool. Who'll get it? Geisha? King Kong? Ah, King Kong. Big surprise. Moving on.
In Memoriam thing. As always it starts out with people nobody knows and everyone goes "... who?" Man couldn't they have found better pictures of some of the guys? Yeah, some big people have left. Shelley Winters, Anne Bankroft, Richard Pryor... Chris Penn is a fucking shame. He was still so young. Otherwise no surprises. That's odd. Usually I always kinda go ;-; at some of them I didn't hear about. Then again, this year none of my real favorites have passed away. Those already are gone... *sniffs* And why did they leave out Don Knotts? Hm maybe he wasn't a member of the guild.
Best Foreign Language Film... I predict Tsotsi. What will it be? ... *drumroll*... And it's Tsotsi. Tadah! Big whoop. ... Okay, that was actually one acceptance speech that I found moving and endearing.
Yeah, that's kinda fucking pathetic that these rappers got an Oscar and Martin Scorcese STILL hasn't. That man's a fucking genius. Give him an award already. And not the lame life achievement one but a REAL one.
OMG leading role already?!? They still have cinematography left! And screenplay O.o;.
What did Joaquin say when the camera was on him? He definitely said "I love you" but what else? I thought I saw "I love you, Rita" O.o;.
Okay now I missed the announcement. Heh... yeah, Hoffman was great. The award for Capota is justified. The acting was great. Just sad it's yet another award for BBM slipping away. I can predict the news already. "Surprisingly, the much predicted Oscar champion BBM turned into the big loser of the evening, only taking home an award for best original score." Booooooooh... It's always the gloomy analysts later that make these kind of things sucks.
LOL @ the orchestra playing a flourish at being pointed out by Stewart and him saying "I thought you were pointing me off!" *swings fist*
And another one for Geisha. Cinematography, wtf. That one went by so fast! What's the deal?
Best female actress... (yeah I know, non-PC, too lazy to type out). Now that one's a real mystery. I can't decide who should get it. Witherspoon? Huffman? Dench is trying so hard to not show that she wants it. I kinda think it'll be Witherspoon. Huffman just doesn't seem to work out. And the winner is... Witherspoon. There ya go. But why are they playing Phantom of the Opera music on her way out?
Okay cuddling up in bed now. Still watching. Yay for Hoffmann. He's so great, and so easy-going. And he looks so... fresh. I wonder what he's done to his face O.o. Now for best screenplay adaption. I know some will disagree but I thought the adaption went really well, so I really want BBM to win it. And it is... BBM!!!!!!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! OKAY! That's two down. Excellent.
Hm, since the end is drawing near now I have to say some closing thoughts... yeah doing them now because I'm tired and will hit the off button and snooze away as soon as the end credits roll. There were no great glamorous moments, I must say. No real touching moments I'll remember forever. Maybe that one guy who won for Tsotsi, but still. Not even the In Memoriam bit touched me. But all in all nice. Nothing terribly memorable, but nice. No huge surprises for the awards either (yet). Jon Stewart worked out better than I thought he would. He was actually pretty charming. A lot better than Chris Rock, that's for sure.
And now for directing... OMG YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I'm so relieved! BBM took home best directing. Now I can relax. Anything else is just added bonus. ^____^ Randomly, does Ang Lee have troubles pronouncing his own son's name? I thought he said Nathan. But of course, maybe it was some other Chinese name...
OMG who lifted Jack Nicholson and is he going to get sued for it???
And Best Film goes to... Crash?!? Wow, THAT is a surprise. The movie that so defiantly refused to win any awards for the entire evening... Cool O.o. I haven't seen the movie, have no idea about it, so I guess... yay? Surprised, but not enthused.
LOL Tom just had the best comment about them cutting off that chick mid-acceptance speech. "Tranqing her would have been more subtle" XD;
Hm I think we're done now, no? Just waiting for the closing words after another annoying commercia block... exactly. I always feel so cheated then -.-;. LOL.
Anyway, clocking in now, too. Finally. Good night, and good luck.
Nice opening, I like. Now I reeeeeeally wonder how Jon Stewart will keep up!
Hahahaha okay I already love the opening! *giggles a lot* Truth be told, nobody can be worse than Steve Martin.
