I found a great site...

I stumbled onto it yesterday and was immediately enthralled.

www.retrojunk.com offers you a huge collection of information and intros of old TV shows and commercials of the 70s, 80s and 90s! I think I've spent hours browsing the site, watching clips and floating on a cloud of nostalgia... aaaaaaaah. Wonderful. I can only urge you guys to go check it out! :3

Here are some shows I used to watch as a child. God, I loved those.

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (Ramrod!), Defenders of the Earth (Mandrake was so cool...), Galaxy Rangers (Goose was awesome), Ulysses 31 (hehehe, kinda interesting premises that show had), Bravestarr (that one was so cool... come to think of it, what was it with Space Cowboys in the 80s? O.o; And why did I like them all??), and of course, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! Heheh and the ever so cool Danger Mouse!

Yeah I really was into animation... But there are others, too! Like... Misfits of Science and of course, Remington Steele.

God, I could list shows forever and ever. I watched tons of stuff of course. Knight Rider, A-Team, Mission: Impossible, Highway to Heaven... Other animations like Dungeons & Dragons, Captain Future etc. but that'd take forever. I can only urge you to look at it yourself and enjoy oh so wonderful nostalgia...

What makes an animation good in your opinion?

Hmmm... tough question. Mostly, it's a personal preference I'd say. But why... I just can say that I've always liked drawn things, animation, comics etc. Maybe because I've always liked drawing myself. I simply enjoy looking at the way it's done, how people interpret certain emotions, gestures etc. In animation you can do things that you can't do with real people. It's artistic and beautiful. The people aren't real people pretending to be someone else, but they are what they are. That's why I like animation.

If you're asking what distinguishes a good animation from a bad one, then it's definitely the quality of the artwork. Whether it's cheaply animated, whether frames and expressions wobble a lot, how artful the animated frames are etc. But of course it's also the art style of the animator, the colors they use, whether they use shadowing etc. Some of the shows I listed aren't exactly "good" quality. A lot of those 80s shows were cheap mass production. Those I simply loved because I'm a sucker for superheroes *g*. Can't help it, I just dig them.

This is hilarious!!! There are lots of ones that I'd seen, but not thought twice about in the past decade!! Strawberry Shortcake, Popples, He-man and She-Ra. Ninja Turtles... lol... wow.

That's the great thing about it, isn't it? It's not like we've been sitting here, yearning for it on TV. But then you surf around the site and get all starry eyed, remembering how it was when you watched it as a child! :B
