He isn't a dinosaur, by the way. Judging by the crest on his head, it's a Pteranodon, a kind of Pterosaurus. Pterosaurii are from the order Pterosauria, and not Dinosauria. Therefore it is not a dinosaur.
Interestingly enough, the dinosaur (can't tell what it is, though definitely a theropod, most likely from the order Coelurosauria or Carnosauria) is more closely related to the owl than the pterosaur. That is, birds being descended from Saurischia, lizard-hipped dinosaurs.

I still like him! On Walking With Dinosaurs, there's this one episode that features Ornithocheirus, a kind of pterosaur. He was awesome. Of course, he died at the end of the episode, which was just sad. :(
