The Trouble with Monk Slash

Now I know why there is no Monk slash around. Or hardly any. Because it seems fucking impossible to write him in character! At least judged by what I'm seeing here. Dude, have you ever watched Monk at all? Do you know about his problems, about not wanting to touch other people, being scared of germs and countless other things? Apparently not >.<;. I realize that it's very difficult to write Monk slash but I'd rather have people not write anything at all than doing such a half-assed job of it. *miffles around*
I can see slashvibes between Monk and Leland, albeit only very faint. Leland is pretty much in love with his wife and Monk only thinks about Trudy, so you need to take that into account and somehow convey it. And you HAVE to consider Monk's problems. You can't just ignore them. It won't fly. If you consider all this it can be done. But I guess most people just don't feel like putting so much effort into fics anymore... Oh well.
