Oh dear.

It appears that TV Guide is holding an online poll about Star Trek, and our dear, sweet young Ensign Crusher is currently leading in the "Most Annoying Character" category.

I know, it's hard to believe it, especially when we consider that Wesley was given lines such as, "We're from Starfleet! We don't lie!" and "I feel strange, but also good!" and the ever-popular "Course laid in, sir." But it's true. And so very, very sad.

Not that I care about this sort of thing . . . but actually, I do. I'm really tired of wearing that "Annoying Character" albatross around my neck, and if Wesley is voted most annoying in TV Guide's big old Farewell to Star Trek issue, I don't think I'll ever hear the end of it.

I'm not suggesting that thousands of WWdN readers go take the poll and stuff the ballot box. I mean, that would just be wrong, right?

Normally, I'd stuff this ballot box entirely on my own, but if some of you WWdN readers want to legitimately and honestly vote for another character, like The Computer Voice for instance — I mean, come on! How many times did the stupid Ship's Computer actually save the crew? Yeah! That's what I thought. She's got nothing on Wesley Crusher — I would be ever so grateful.

Provided, of course, that you truly believe there is a different, more annoying character than Wesley — I'd never suggest taking actions which could call into question the legitimacy of an online Star Trek poll. Oh no, not me.

Never.

Perish the thought.

HA! Got him out of the lead and put Alexander there, though how long it stays is anybody's guess.

I never understood why everyone hated Wesley. Sure he never got the best of lines but i was in middle school when i started watching and I was totally in love with the boy. Wil Wheaton was just the cutest boy ever to me when i was in 6th and 7th grade LOL. So maybe i am bias :)

Though why the hell Kirk is not on there is beyond me. I hated kirk, he had to be the most annoying character ever. Though they did have Alexander, so not everything was a bust.

LOL! I think I voted for ...Troy (however you spell her name). And that wasn't because he asked me to. I HAAAAAAAAATE HER!!!!!!! Too bad they didn't add "random alien babe with a blur on her when in close-up" I so would have voted for that one.

no, not Troi... wait, you mean Lwaxanna or Deanna? (can't remember if just Lwaxana was on there or both).

I loved both but I understand how people get aggravated with Lwaxana, again i think i am just one a small group, which wouldn't be the first time LOL.

But i loved Deanna, when i was really little I used to wish she could be my mom (I have parent issues LOL). Plus dude, Imzadi, all the way :)

Honestly, I didn't think he was all that annoying. Most of the characters listed there are a LOT more annoying. I HATED Lwaxana, she was AWFUL. Worf's son was way worse too, Neelix is kinda annoying and I always cringe when I have to hear to Quark talk. I admit I found McCoy kinda annoying too, but he had his justification to be there, so eh.
The computer voice didn't bother me much either, and as arrogant and narrow-sighted as Q was, it was always funny and interesting when he was around.

Apart from that, hahaaaaa. He's already behind Lwaxana, Worf's son, the computer voice (which is leading XDDDD) and Neelix. And Q is right behind him. It's so sweet that people listen to him and vote against him X3

ohmygawd are u serious? Mommy Troi? I always loved her!!! I thought she was hilarious, always wished I'd had someone like her in my family, would make family get togethers sooo much more interesting and fun to attend LOL.

I am really really serious. Mommy Troi was the most annoying ever >_< It got me into a friggen RAGE how she walked over everyone else's feelings or if not that, plain ignored them. I always wondered if she was really THAT DUMB or if she was just one of those 'people who think they're always right are really annoying to those of us who ARE always right'-persons.
I'd never ever want to know her, much less have someone like her in my family >_<.
But then, I found Deanna herself annoying once in a while too and so I sorta amused myself over her torture... >_>;

Alas, but I'll third that crush on Wesley...

I always thought that Mama Troi was more annoying than Wesley, though Wes had his moments. Actually, I thought Deanna Troi was horribly annoying, too.

But I love me some Julian Bashir. And Chakotay.

Heheh yes... I was reminded of my Trekkie-geekery when I was looking for Data's name in "character for a date" and I kept looking for the "character you'd like to shag" section XD;.
