silversolitaireHm, I'm currently watching that Enrique Iglesias video and wondering a couple of things. One, what's going on there anyway? The couple stole money from a gangster and now they're after them and then big guy tries to make a point to beat ONH to death in front of his girlfriend? Hum... Also, why would someone stand still and allow the other one to sock him straight in the face without trying to dodge? Is it unmanly to avoid a blow?
Do you ever get that? That a video or commercial has been on a billion times, but you just never paid attention, kinda heard it drift by in the background and then, months later, you look for the first time and discover something special, a movement, a facial expression, and it really fascinates you. And from that day on you sit there and wait, desperate to see it again, but you never do. And then at some point it actually is on, but you can't see that expression anymore... as if it was just there for this particular instant. It's moments like this when I wish I had a camera in my head that didn't take pictures of what there is, but of what I see and how I perceive it and I could look at it again and again.
I could be so beautiful...
And it all seems so pointless now, doesn't it? When you wake up, switch on the TV, click through pointless shows, stop at MTV, watch a video, sip on your coffee... at some point you wonder, oh yeah, maybe I should check the news. And you see them, all those newsflashes, and they're already history, and it seems so far away, so far... You try to understand, but somehow you can't. You just drink your coffee and hum "I can be your hero, baby..."
I don't think there is anything I could say that is worthwhile.

Date: 2003-03-20 03:07 am (UTC)I mean after the gangster has hit him, NOT to death but enough so that he is dying, suddenly there's a time lapse for about an hour (!)or so since suddenly it is night and raining. Then the gangsters are gone. Why would they leave the job unfinished?! And all of a sudden there are police cars standing around. The guy is bleeding to death and they are just standing there! Somehow he has moved several feet away since being beaten (several hours ago!) because now he has to walk a long stretch to get to his girlfriend, while singing, and die in her arms. All the while the copcars are just standing there! How many logical errors can there be in one music video?! It's sad because the song is actually kind of good.
