silversolitaireMy bro was annoying last night. First he chews my ears off with some stupid band he likes. He's always so talkative when I want to go to bed. And then when I actually want him to pay attention to me, he ignores it! It was like this:
He: blablablabla*talk*blablabla*gush*blablabla
Me: *yawns, is tired, tries to close the bedroom door, gives up, goes to bathroom*
He: *follows and continues talking about some band's newsletter*
Me: *brushes teeth, washes face etc... watches bro take Nyquill* Uh, are you sick?
He: Yup. Since yesterday I've got this scratchy throat.
Me: Uhm, and you're taking Nyquill for that? There are so many other medications that are a lot better, like [insert reasonable cough syrup for that purpose].
He: Uh-huh.
Me: You realize that you're totally overdoing it, yes? You're treating one tiny symptom with something like a shotgun. You're always overdoing it with your self-medication anyway.
He: *ignores*
Me: Besides, Nyquill is really expensive, you shouldn't just waste it like that.
He: *ignores, leaves*
-.-;;; I think I was making a very valid point here. Nyquill may be fine and dandy when you have a mother of a cold, complete with runny nose, headache, coughing, temperature etc. That's what it's good for. Just taking it for treating a "scratch" is really so over the top. It's not healthy and it's also a painful waste of a perfectly good bottle of Nyquill. Gah! I hate it when he doesn't listen to me. And then I'm the bitch. *grumbles* He really has no sense for decent self-medication. Once he had a toothache. Granted, it was bad, but he managed to take 4 or 5 aspirin a day! Every day! For weeks! That is just horrible! Also, Aspirin isn't the smartest choice for that sort of pain either! He could have harmed his kidneys and liver badly with that sort of constant overdosing!
