I'm looking at the reviews of a fic at ff.net that I most positively left a critical review for and what do you know, the review is gone. Methinks this author likes to select his or her reviews. Now this is the lowest of the low... >_< I'm also surprised that ff.net now seems to remove reviews that go beyond "Gaaaaaah OOOOOH! How coool!!!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!1111"

Idiots...

Eh, not Fanfiction.net.

Reviews that are left by reviewers that aren't logged in can be deleted by the authors. Most of the flames etc are that kind of review, so it makes it a hell of a lot easier for the Fanfiction.net staff if the authors themselves can deal with those kind of flames, and direct the much smaller of signed in flames to the staff. Of course, it means that some of the more sensitive people delete perfectly fine constructive crit if the reviewer hasn't signed in.

And if you did sign in, Xing might just have been having a bad night =)

Okay... last time I checked reviews could only be removed by the staff.

>_< There was nothing wrong with my review. I was just pointing out a weakness that I had spotted and that I still think is in there. But oh well... granted, I wasn't logged in, because I was at work. *grumbles* What an ass. I'll never read or review anything by this person again.

Phe. I hate idiots like that - it's why I always make sure I log in if I'm going to give heavy constructive crit. If I'm going to go to the effort to politely point out a weakness, there is no way I'm going to put myself in a position where the writer can delete a very legit review.

I have concluded

that fanfiction.net exists primarily to make me laugh hysterically at truly horrendous Mary Sue fics.

There are still a few serious authors on there - and my advice to them is to get a live journal. And then exit ff.net at high speed.

It is becoming a very bad joke.

Some people need to learn to distinguish between flaming and constructive criticism. Honestly. Why do these people put their fic on ff.net, ask for reviews, and then whine for sympathy and attention when somebody has the nerve to bruise their ego by pointing out that they contradicted canon or had a major plot hole or switched tenses or whatever?

Idiots...

I'm going to have to agree.

I have nothing agaist FF.net, but you'd think some of these people would actually listen to critisism. I guess some people are just too sensative to take it. Gotta agree on this one.
