Sep. 8th, 2005 02:17 pmLook at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between 50 and 75 interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over 75 interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much:
bitching: I can be very opinionated and sometimes I just have the need to bitch and rant. It's very healthy. It cleanses the soul *g*.
decadence: I was once told that my poetry resembles the one of the Decadence. That made me check it out and I decided I really like it. The poets of the Decadence really speak from the bottom of my soul, sometimes. I also like the way they led their lives, so full of pain, anguish and depression, indulging in alcohol, drugs and whores and yet so full of beautiful emotion...
film noir: I like the mood and the artistic value of Film Noir. It's very gratifying to examine these movies, because there's so much in them that can be analyzed and written about. I like stories of crime and decadence, of how it affects people and lifes. Insanity, murder, deception, sex, all wrapped up in one neat bundle. What else do you need?
glitter: Glitter is shiny. 'Nuff said.
ireland: Not exactly sure why I have this up. I mean, Ireland is a lovely country and I like the way it looks, the people etc. but I've never been there, so it's a bit shallow to list it. I do like Pierce Brosnan, though, who is Irish, and Daniel Day-Lewis who became Irish. Scotland on the other hand would have been easier to explain *g*.
krishna: Krishna is one of the deities that fascinates me the most. I have a deep feeling of respect and admiration for him. I love the way he looks, his deeds, his teachings. He's wonderful.
michael feinstein: Heh... Michael Feinstein is one of my shameful little passions. Most people probably consider him lame. He's a guy on a piano who sings the old songs, Gershwin, musicals etc. I just love it. I can't help it. I find it hard to explain why his songs move me so. When I was in NY I went to the place he performs at to give him a letter. I didn't meet him though and I never actually posted the letter...
placebo: Well, they make great music. Or used to, anyway. That's about it. I was in their fanclub when they still had that paper magazine! LOL
religion: Anyone who knows me, knows that religion is a great interest of mine. I like talking about it for hours, I like debating theological aspects of life, and I'm extremely interested in other religions. I spend hours reading up on them and I'm always thrilled to meet members of different religions, hearing about their beliefs etc.
slash: Well, duh. Slash has so many wonderful aspects, I'd probably run out of space here *g*. I can't really explain why I find slash so much more appealing than het. I just can't. But that's the way it is. I've gotten a lot tolerant over the years, no longer minding het anymore, but I can't really see myself totally getting into a het story and read it with great pleasure. That is for fanfics of course. I do enjoy the occasional bodice ripper *g*. I guess the main thing I like about slash is that it's always romantic. It's relationship driven. And it's often dramatic and angsty. That's wonderful. I really don't know why it has to be m/m, but that's just the way it is, I guess. I love picking up slashy vibes in shows. Although I must admit I've gotten a lot less... uh, silly about it. In the old days I'd basically see slash in every single show or movie I watched. Nowadays I really need to see an actual attraction to see it work.
van gogh: What can I say. He's an amazing artist. I've always liked his paintings. And his life story is amazing. I feel for him, I can see how sad his art made him, because I often feel the same. "The sadness will continue" is one of the quotes that has moved me the most. I also must say that I've never felt a painting so energetic than the sunflowers in the National Gallery in London. I didn't know they were going to be there and when I went around to corner and suddenly saw them the entire room seemed to be dipped in a golden glow. And the air smelled so sweet... it was wonderful.
yuki: Yuki is the guy who's in my default icon. I've had him for ages and I just can't make myself change him. He's from the anime Gravitation. I like Yuki's personality. I like his looks. He's cool. That's about it *g*.
