Well shit I totally forgot the Golden Globes are on tonight. Now I'm tired and depressed and don't really feel like sitting through it for hours. Meh. At least I got to see Hugh on the red carpet. That's something, too.

WTF was that with the opening "ceremony" though? There basically was... none O.o. The set opens, Clooney walks out and says "Let's get this party started. I'm here to present..." I mean yeah, the GG have always been kinda barren, but this is depressing! And the categories are always so jumbled.

Man, this sucks. I alway like watching the GG because they're a lot more diverse and varied than the Oscars and I always discover lots of TV movies I never heard about :(. But I really can't... I could record this of course but I just know I'm never going to watch it. *sighs*

Just gonna watch a bit more and comment as I go...

Funny that nobody comes to collect the award for best song. Sure, since Prince won it that makes sense, but it's funny that Justin Timberlake stood there, all forlorn, as if nobody had informed him that in case of Prince winning nobody would come to collect. Suuuure... not believing that. They probably know exactly who's there and who isn't. But it still looked funny the way the cameras stayed glued on him and he was like ">.>;;; and now?" And then he goes to his knees to pretend to be Prince! Haha.. that was good.

Jeremy Irons is always such a pleasure to listen to. He always seems kinda sub-depressive. But i have to admit, it saddens me a bit to see how much he's aged... Nothing against aged men, but he just looks so... worn out. That saddens me.

LOL, David Spade and "the other chick" are funny. "Actresses in a not amusing role. The following actresses were absolutely not funny." What a way to introduce drama... haha.

Huh, is that Kevin Bacon as what's her face's date? O.o *searches in back of memory* Huh, according to her acceptance speech they even have kids together. Kyra Sedgewick, right. Okay, totally out of the loop apparently! And I could have sworn I had just read some juice bit of gossip not so long ago involving Bacon. Guess I'm wrong! *checks IMDB* DUDE! Apparently they've been married since 1988! Okay yes, TOTALLY out of it. :O

YAAAAAAAAAAY! Good thing I decided to stay up! And so I got to see Hugh collect his well-deserved award for best actor in a drama-series! That was such a tough call! I mean he was up againast Michael C. Hall who was simply brilliant in Dexter, hands down, and then of course up against crowd favorites such as Kiefer Sutherland and Patrick Dempsey. So... who knew! BUt can I just say... IN YOUR FACE. GA!!!! HAHAHAHA. Of course, of course, I know, the rivalry between House and Grey's Anatomy isn't all that bad, but it still feels good! hehehe

And of course, Hugh was charming as always. I loved how he walked up there and said he'd wish people would give him an acceptence speech for free instead of cufflinks and shoes. And then he went on how has to thank his wonderful crew, then added "Of course, everyone thanks their wonderful crew. Obviously that can't be true. Somebody out there is working with a crew of drunken thieves. But I don't. I work with a wonderful crew and it's fun to work with them every day and they smell of... newly mown grass." Hahahaha...

And then first thing he said, "I'd like to thank Robert Sean Leonard. I don't know for what though. I'm sure he gave me a very good reason." *giggles* And he thanked lots of other people, none of his co-actors though. His two "bosses" David Shore and Katie Jacobs whom he called the most wonderful bosses one could wish working for. Hahah, he said he owes this award to them. He's not going to give it to them, but he owes it to them. And his wife of course and Stephen Fry and a bunch of other people whom he called "heads of families" if I recall that correctly now. Very nice. Probably the best speech of the lot yet. Am kinda biased, of course... hehehe.

I approve of Cars winning best animation. We totally had a flood of animation movies this year (and half of them weren't even nominated! Man, that's gotta sting) and people just started to get tired of them. But Cars was amazing, heart-felt and moving. I loved it! And I hadn't even meant to watch it! So yay!

Okay, just what is this with cameras constantly panning on Jack Nicholson and people constantly acting as if they're talking to him directly? Did I miss something, other than that he put out an amazing movie this year? Maybe he's just so thrilled that he actually has a reason again to prominently feature at an award show that he goes way overboard. Entirely possible. Either way. I love Jack, I really do, but this is weird. Okay, it's probably that his daughter is the award-handing-over-girl, too. Unless I totally misunderstood... *rubs chin* Whatever. It's weird.

I kinda didn't pay attention through most of Meryl Streep's acceptance speech because I was busy typing up my reactions and browsing the flist for reactions of the award, but the last thing she said caught my attention. "It's funny what you can achieve when you... quietly, clearly and authoritatively demand it." Word, sister! *g*

Man, I can't believe how silver-haired Ben Stiller has gotten! It just seems so weird. OMG! Sacha Baron Cohen without any sort of make-up on TV! That's a rare sight :O!!! But what was that anyway? Just a heads-up?

Okay, there's Helen Mirren again. Is it just me or did that woman basically pop up out of nowhere? I mean, I've never really noticed her before and suddenly everybody is talking about her part in The Queen, and then Elizabeth I and now this other movie too apparently! Suddenly she's everywhere! What gives? O.o

Wow, that's a surprise that Eddie Murphy is taking the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. I mean, I haven't seen Dreamgirls, but I just thought that Jack Nicholson was so fucking brilliant in The Departed that nothing could outshine that. Of course that's not an argument for a biased opinion, but still. But then again, Jack has gotten his own fair share of praise, so why not give Eddie a bit of that so people remember he's more than just Donkey.

And there goes Helen Mirren. Thank God she won something. Would have been really embarrassing to not get anything with that load of nominations! hehe...

WTF is Cameron Diaz wearing there? Looks like my old Barbie doll. And fittingly, Jake Gyllenhaal looks like Ken! Muahaha...

Okay I guess I should be responsible now and sign off. I got to look at the important awards anyway. Will watch the rest in the summary tomorrow. Good luck to all the other nominees still waiting to be announced winner! :D

So I lied. I'm not responsible and continued watching in my room. I'm gonna skip the first class then. I know, I know. But it's the Golden Globes! D:

I have a couple of comments though. First, wtf is this with Jeremy Piven constantly hugging his - what I think is his - mother whenever the camera catches him? I had this showy behavior! -.-; I really need to start watching Ugly Betty, I think. And what is this blue jigsaw piece everyone is wearing at their lapels? And I really wanted Tony Shaloub to win. He's being nominated over and over again and never wins! Booooh! He does a great job as Adrian! *miffles*

Oh cool, foreign language film category. The last one I was really curious about. WTF?!? Why is Clint Eastwood winning best foreign picture? What a fucking cop-out! There were so many brilliant movies that were actually done by other countries, but noooooo. *miffs* Eastwood is just the king of patriotic movies this year, isn't he?

Oh well, the rest was cool so far.

Okay, REALLY going to bed now (I think...). Not because I'm pissed but because I'm actually tired! Imagine that! haha...

Oh! There is Prince! So he actually was going to come, but only was stuck in traffic! That's surprising!

Really going now. No, really... >.>
