Congrats to Finland. I approve. *g*

Strange. My favorite won and yet I feel depressed. The workings of the human mind. *gets a drink*

I don't know what the post is about. I'm guessing a sorts game or the like?
Anywho. Feel better. I'll be hopefully drinking myself into a stupor tonight, that's for sure.

It's about the Eurovision Song Contest. Awesome people won:

There was a post about them at wtf_inc actually. They were supercool. But somehow I'm still disappointed. I wanted our entry to win, even though I wasn't even supporting them since yesterday, but then I've gotten all hyped up over it and meh... Oh well. *refills*

They had a weird video. It's soo cool to be able to see all the videos online. And TEH songage.

I think the video is better than the live performance actually.
But that's just me. What do you think of Romania? I love your icon. :-)

I've never heard of that Finnish band before, but I actually liked them. Especially the fact that someone called them 'sweet' & 'good-looking'. Finnish music is great

Oh yay! ^^
People went crazy over here, it's quite funny how important this is to our country. The young Finns have never ever been interested in Eurovision before.
We have never had success, and we were laughing about the points, our points this year could be about all the previous points put together, lol (didn't count but it feels like it)... but I'm happy all the same. I was freaking out when I realized that we were actually getting points and were in the lead, almost couldn't watch..hehe.
But I totally understand your depression, I almost never liked our songs before but felt bad we didn't succeed.

HAVE to disagree!
We (the belgian gay community) were apauled... but we figured the Germans would love it! ;-p LOL

My favourites (besides our own Kate Ryan who didn't even make it to the finals thanks to the carnival the Eurovisian Songcontest turned into) were Turkey and Russia :)

Talk to you soon when my internetconnection is back up in the new place ;-)

Nico

Hey. Germany gave 12 points to Turkey or so, if I recall correctly. Germany always gives high points to Turkey since the German population is comprised of 50% Turks or something (just kidding). I didn't like the Turkish entry at all. That peroxide Barbie and the squeak was just too much for me. Russia had a nice song, but it was way too pop for my taste and the guy was having spasmic attacks with that arm flailing and what the heck was the deal with that white chick emerging from the piano? That was just beyond freaky. And people complain about a bit of rubber zombie masks. Geeze. But the song was catchy, no doubt. No offense, but I really didn't like the Belgian entry. It bored me to tears. I really liked the Finnish entry because I like that kind of music *shrugs*. And I'm kinda tired of all those typical ESC ballads.

Sure, just give me a holler when you're online again. I just keep forgetting logging into MSN.

Sweet and good-looking? Haha, that's taking it a bit far if you ask me. But I find it amusing that some people were seriously asking whether the Finns really looked like that. Hahaha, weirdoes.

Finland for the win!

I wasn't really aware of Finland's long streak of unsuccessfulness! Now the news are full of it and I'm just the more happy for you guys to finally be taking the ESC home! ^^

It was boring this year... I only watch for the strange little rock bands some countries send, but there wasn't really anythign interesting this year around besides silicone & botox gone wrong... it's nice to have a song liek that win though *g*

Hehe. OMG. Someone did not like Lordi. Didn't they get an eight from Belgium? It wasn't the greatest song, more like the top five, but the performance was great and the ESC is mostly about who has the best show nowadays. Like Tomi said, this is a victory for open mindedness.

I'm about the only one who liked Turkey in Sweden. My favourite? Romania. Call me crazy but I think eastern european countries have contributed with the best ESC songs in the last couple of years.
