I really hate the sweeps. I do. I'm just the kind of person that gets used to things and wants them to remain the way they are. I know, it's something I don't share with most people and it's not the best way to approach things either, but it's just the way I am. And the sweeps just always mean that the TV stations are trying so damn hard to draw in viewers that they try to change things up in TV shows big time, just so that everyone is dying for the next season.

Right now, there's like a dozen show finales I worry about, am upset about... and a lot I probably haven't even found out about yet because I don't care about the show that much that I watch it religiously but when I do find out I'm upset anyway.

Since I'll be spoiling a lot of season finales and other random stuf here I'm gonna lj-cut. Read at your own risk.

For instance, the season finale of NCIS upsets me. It upsets me even more that things are left in the dark like that. Is our mind being fucked with and all the announcements that someone is going to leave the show is just a bait to get viewers back in fall? Or does the ending with Gibbs handing over his badge really mean he's gone? How can that be? NCIS without Gibbs is impossible. I never thought I'd say that, but that's just wrong. Gibbs is an integral part of the show and when he's gone the show is gone. Even Tony is more dispensable than him and Tony is my favorite character. Very upsetting.

I just randomly read some TV news and read that this long-necked chick from the O.C. dies. Well, her character. Not that I give a shit about that show, but that's just another thing where I'm thinking "DUDE! Do you have to?" If I had been watching this show I'd be very upset. I just hate it when they kill characters >.<;. I mean, I understand! This is life, this is what happens. And actors just want to move on, don't want to stick with the same show for 10 years, circumstances change... It's understandable, and yet it's upsetting.

Or take something like Gilmore Girls. Somehow it's always the same. You start a show with UST and draw in people with it. It's a concept that always works. People watch it because they want to know when A and B will finally get each other and when it happens they're all happy and off the hook and squee and fangirl. But what then? Most of the time it's the end of the show, because really, that's all the show was about when it comes down to it. Lucky for Gilmore Girls, they have really good scriptwriting and a lot is also about the conflicts between Lorelei and Rory and the grandparents, so it's not too bad, but still. The constant ups and downs in the relationship with Luke and Lorelei are just starting to piss me off. They love each other, they want to marry, they split up, they get back together, they want to marry again, mystery child appears, relationship on the rocks again... GAH. I hate this!

Randomly, this is why I hate soaps, because they just have to keep doing that. You just can't choose one OTP and hope everything is streamlined towards it. Unless it's a telenovela of course, but then there will be the pain of it ending eventually. Ah, it's so difficult...

is just the same, of course. Those two have been dicking around each other forever now and of course they just need to end up back in bed together. It's an imperative. But by now they managed to make Derek such an unlikeable character (to me anyway) that I just can't squee over it. It's just all annoying. Maybe I'm just choosing the wrong OTPs... Not even getting into all the other crap that's going on. I just hate it when shows begin to annoy me with all the bullshit stacking up.

Oh and House of course. Nothing for sure there yet, but all these rumors about him being cured of his bad leg are just most upsetting IMO. It's one of the things that draws me the most to his character. I just like characters with a flaw, with a constant pain. Mostly, because I have it, too. I've had a bad knee for... 3 years now? 4? Don't know. Anyway, I just know what it feels like and I love fraternizing with House over it. And when he suddenly gets cured I find this highly implausible and I feel betrayed because here I am, trapped in reality, and my leg still hurts while his got magically better. And what then? Will he stop popping pills? He can't! It's just him! And his character would lose the edge, the bitterness... Part of why he is the way he is now is because he's bitter about losing the leg, angry with pain and life. How can they take that all away? It really bugs me. Not to mention that it's just a medical impossibility. You don't just grow back a muscle. Jesus...

I mean, I understand that the actor is bothered with the limping and it hurts his other leg and back, but there are so many other ways to solve this. He could just walk less. It's not like this would kill the show if he just sat down more and wasn't doing the "limping through the corridor and ranting routine" that much. Or he could change the limp. I could live with that. But cure it? That just sucks... Mehage.

Here's an article about the spoilers, btw.

*sighs* I just managed to really depress myself now. I can't even go on about all the other things that bug me about TV right now. I hate changes.

Even if the rumors about House's leg being 'cured' are true, I wouldn't count on him losing his edge. They mentioned several times on the show that he wasn't any less of a cynic bastard before the leg, so I strongly assume he won't become Mr. Nice Guy either way.

But I know what you mean. Changes generally upset me, too. Especially if I liked the status quo before that. *is a bit scared to watch season three of The O.C. because Zach is gone and Caleb is dead and Marissa will die*

It's just not the same *whinewhine*. House needs to limp ;_;. He's like me when he limps ;_;. I understand all their reasons, but I hate it *sniffles*. I'm thinking of all these sexy scenes, like Wilson grabbing House's cane, or when Wilson sawed half-way through House's cane etc. and then to think that those wouldn't be anymore... *sob* Not to mention that rumor has it Wilson would perform this mystery surgery which is just plain absurd considering he's an oncologist -_-. *siiiiiiiiigh* I just hope they treat it with care. *wibbles*

Dude, I don't know The O.C. at all. I can't even remember the character's names. I have a friend who watches the show and every time I happen to tune in I keep going "Okay, beady eye blonde just said..." (that's the main chara I think) "What's with the long-neck chick?", "That one guy with the strong eyebrows and the girly name", "Son of Eyebrow"... I have NO clue who is who! Hahaha... How does Marissa die? And who is Caleb? And uh where did Zach go? Can you describe the people some so I know who you're talking about? XD; I'm really kinda curious!

I know what you mean about House. I'm skeptic about the rumors myself, but I'm actually more upset that the writers have no sense of continuity at all, which drives me up the wall.

As for The O.C., I have actually no idea how Marissa died. She died in the s3 season finale, that's all I know, otherwise I'm more or less unspoiled. I watched it dubbed into German and Pro7 won't start airing season three for another two or three weeks yet.

Caleb was Seth's grandfather. (Which, of course, will mean nothing to you. LOL. Seth is the guy with the curly black hair who's best friends and sorta-adopted brothers with the beady eye protagonist.) He was a hardliner business man, a bit of a bastard, really, but I liked him.

Zach, on the other hand, is the guy who was fighting with Seth over Summer (the dark haired chick). Except he and Seth were almost friends and really slashy. They are also on the icon I'm using here. He and Seth made this comic together, and at the end of season two, he met up with George Lucas on prom night (thus basically giving Seth his blessing re: Summer) to discuss further plans for the comic and was never seen again. And I don't mean that in a "everyone is totally weirded out and wonders about Zach" way, but rather in a "the writers wrote him out like he had never been there at all and no one except me seems to notice" way.

I'm not sure if this is helping at all. *g* Sorry, I'm bad at the whole summary thing.

Hah! Okay! So Seth is Son of Eyebrow! Got it. Now that you mention it, I remember the name... I think. I thought it was Zach. So confusing. I have no idea who Zach is, but I see your point. It's annoying when characters get just written out. On the other hand, it's worse when they get killed off because then it's much harder to fix O.o. Or when they are replaced by other actors without explanation. Or worse, with a really stupid one! Okay, I'm digressing. Anyway, this really helped. I know Caleb! :D He's the former director at NCIS! Nyahaha. Where did he end up at? Did he die? Go away? Divorce?

Or when they are replaced by other actors without explanation.

Oooh - that evokes fond memories of Santa Barbara, where over the course of the show, they sometimes had up to five different actors play one character.

He's the former director at NCIS!

He is? I didn't know that. I never really watched NCIS, even though I always meant to. But, well, much as I liked his character in O.C., Lauren Holly is prettier than him. :P

Where did he end up at? Did he die? Go away? Divorce?

Funny you should ask. He wanted to get divorced, so his wife planned to poison him. In the last moment, she changed her mind. While she went off to get rid off the poisoned drink, he swam a few rounds in the pool - and got a heart attack and drowned.
