My thoughts on the Goblet of Fire images

Hm... strange. I've been looking for these very images a couple of days ago and came up with nothing but lame images of Lego merchandise. Anyway, just a couple of thoughts on those.

Somehow Cedric is uglier than Viktor, IMO. They're continuing the trend they've started with the movies of making everyone cuter and prettier than they're supposed to. What about the crooked teeth and one-brow? Oh well. On the other hand, Fleur isn't nearly as gorgeous as she was supposed to be! But maybe it's because she's wearing some soorts outfit and doesn't have her hair open and make-up on, or something. Hermione still looks like a chubby child and nothing like the sudden amazing beauty she's supposed to be at the Yule Ball. Ron on the other hand is really cute, omg. But what's with the freaky bow-tie? Kinda upsetting that the witches get to wear amazing gowns and the wizards have to wear those robes, LOL. Horntail looks cool but is painfully obviously CGI => me no likey. I hope they improve this before the release. And LOL! What happened to the twins? XD; But I love the expression on their faces! hehehe

I have to agree, on pretty much all counts. Viktor isn't nearly football-player enough, Fleur looks like typical-blonde-girl, Hermione looks like her regular self with a so-so hairdo at the Yule Ball, and the Maze/Horntail shots look like painfully bad Fantasy Fan Art. The only thing in here that I really like in these pictures is the Goblet, looks like they did that well. I can't say on Ron's costume, yet, because in that headshot it looks like a frilly pinafore with a bowtie. Some of it looks a little better in the trailer-for-the-feature-on-the-last-movie that's on the official Harry Potter site, but...I'm expecting disappointment. Ahh well.

exactly. so far the best of the movies was the 3rd one.. although in that one they took the opposite approach of casting characters uglier than they needed to be (namely.. duhn, what are they called.. the Lupin guy and Black).
and the hippogriff had its legs all wrong!!!

the dragon is ugly. but still better than the phoenix.. O_o that one was a major sucker..

Oh my, I can't believe I say this but I'm in love with Ron, even more now than I was before XD That hair, that hair..
Have to say a bit disapponted in Horntail but...well I still can't wait to see the film!

God, yes! You're right! I don't care how some people dick around now that Lupin was oh so hot and cute, he looked nothing like he was supposed to look like in the book! And maybe my mind is messed up from all the fanfiction, could be, but I'm really rather certain that Sirius was supposed to be good-looking! I mean, in HP#5 all the girls swoon after him and all! And nothing against Gary Oldman, he's a great actor and he can look good when he really tries, but he's just not to type you'd imagine as the dictionary definition of handsome! >.<;

I'm still hoping these are just preliminary caps and stuff. So, the dragon will be a lot better in the movie... PLEASE!

Hm... what about the Hippogriff's legs? I don't recall noticing anything off then... What was wrong about them? *chuckles* Can't be worse than the horse's legs in the new Zelda game XD;.

And yeah, the Phoenix was teh suck indeed. Mix between weird CGI and and a muppets sockpuppet.

I'm excited about the movies regardless. It's just too great, the excitement of it, waiting for the movie, watching the previews, uniting with fans etc. That's just too nice to miss, even if it should turn out kinda weird. And yes! RON! I mean, at first I didn't really get it how people could be all "OMG so hot!" when it was clearly a 10 year old boy! Ick! But now he's really growing up handsomely and he's really such a cutie! I'm also glad that Draco's turning out rather cute, too! (unless he turned ugly again which seems to be a trend of his... LOL). And there's still the chance that these pics of Horntail were just preliminary scans and all will be better in the end result. PLEASE!

I guess they were casting Viktor as cuter so they could create a fanbase for him and sell merchandise. But it sucks regardless. And whereas Fleur is somewhat pretty she's not nearly as stunning and bewitching as she's supposed to be! But like I said, maybe it gets better with proper make-up and all... >.>;. And I just can't get over Cedric. What the fuck is wrong with his nose and chin? O.o;

I agree with the goblet. That one's l33t even though I always kinda imagined it on the red/golden side! I mean, "of Fire"? Hello? I kinda expected a warmer, redder glow to it. But it's still very nice and I can live with it.

I totally agree on the excitement part. This is gonna sound weird.. but when I read the first three books and saw the films I started going crazy, like I can't wait to know what's going to happen next. So I sort of wanted to tease myself, I read the 4th and 5th book just recently. I thought I needed the break cause I started going too deep into that world. XD
And that worked, until I started the 4th book, and after the 5th I felt so empty cause I knew there wasn't going to be another for a while...lol. I even started reading one fanfic, which I haven't done before (only one x-files fic) because I didn't feel the need..

Lol I didn't know some people thought Ron was hot! I kinda started having hots for him during the 4th book, at times only cause he felt like a sad case. (Hope that didn't sound too rough) But like you said he's growing up handsomely, and that pic just made my day!
Well Draco has got that evil charm I've always been alittle weak for..ahem..XD

I have to say I'm not active online since I started doing so much work on computer.. So I have no idea about when's the next movie coming out, do you know have they even promised any dates? That much I've heard that the next book is out in July here in Finland..

Heh yes, the actor of Ron, Rupert Grint, has a rather large fanbase, so don't worry, you're not alone *g*.

The official release date for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is slated to be November 17th for Germany, Russia, Switzerland and Thailand (???), 18th for UK, USA and a bunch of others and 25th for Finland. The release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in original English is July 16th. Don't know about the release dates for a Finnish translation ^^;.

I'm gonna read it in original English as soon as it's released. The Finnish translation won't be ready for a while..last one took quite some time.
So only a bit over 2 months to wait then ^__^

those legs were rather awful and spoiled the whole hippogriff for me (which otherwise looked quite cool)..
they made his front legs look like the talonned bird-of-prey legs, but they bent like regular front legs of a 4-legged animal.. only, the legs of birds are anatomically hind extremities and bend in a totally different way.. and so the hippogriff looked like it had two badly damaged fractured front legs. uh! i couldn't even look at it.
whatever. in any case.. it's totally bogus to use "legs" for "hands".. don't you think?

now i remember!!! the problem is not only that the talonned leggs are used as front (perhaps they describe hippogriffs like that in mythology).. but those legs look even more awful, because they made the joints like the horse's front legs and not like an actual bird's leg.. so they bend the wrong way..
perhaps they had to make them that way to appear functional, because i can't imagine how an animal with four hind legs and zero front would walk.. but i know i was greatly troubled by those legs.. :D

LOL! Well I checked and most hippogriffs I found looked exactly like that. So maybe this is why I didn't pay any attention to it in the movie.

But seriously, if you want to argue that way you're going to be in trouble since most mythological creatures don't make sense anatomically! I mean, take a centaur for example! I always keep wondering how their organs even manage to supply everything properly. Where are the reproductive organs, how do they use the toilet? Stuff like that! I could go on like that forever! *g*

LOL centaurs! :)) i don't have as much trouble with the centaurs' rectum and genitals.. there's only one way.. they have them where all the horses do.. :pp more troublesome is that they have TWO RIBCAGES!!! O_o

That's what I meant though! Where are all the organs! Are they all in the human part? If so, what's in the horse part? Is it just flesh and bones and nothing else? Does the heart have enough power to pump blood through the entire bloody thing? It just doesn't make sense!!!

It's on harrypotter.com, Warner Bros' site for all this...I guess they're doing a feature on the third film as hype for the fourth film, mostly it's some extended shots of what you see in those pictures.
