I saw that on the TV a few nights ago and was absolutely mesmerized. I LOVE it! Somehow it's less insulting than having Fred Astaire dancing with a vaccum cleaner. Because they only really stick the marketing in at the final moment, I suppose. I love it.. I know part of me should be insulted, but that part is distracted by admiring the technical skill, and seeing one of my favourite moments in movie history played on TV at random.
I don't know... I guess I find it disrespectful to take someone's likeness, obviously without their consent, and computermorph it into this. It's just... weird. I'm definitely fascinated by the technical skill displayed there, but it just has such a blasphemous flair to it. I love this scene too which is why I don't want to see it changed up like this! It's just like people reediting movies they did 20 years ago into modern standards. It's just not proper.
But I agree, it's definitely a million times better than Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner o.o. Thank God I haven't come across that one yet.
God, this feels like "Laurence Olivier for Diet Coke!"...
