>_<;;;;

This is a review to a Shirley Temple movie on amazon:

shirley temple early years collection, July 31, 2002
Reviewer: A viewer from usa
all in black and white. not reccomended for children. which is why i purchased it and was not told it was black and white. i would not reccomend it to anybody. very boring storyline

Erm... DUH! Geezes! How stupid can you be? "Durh, I buys a 1932 short film collection and its all in b/w what a rip-off u sux!" And I thought it was understood that Shirley Temple movies aren't intended for children >_<;. Not that they're not suitable, but they're just not the target audience. Of course kids won't find it very thrilling to see a kid cuter and more talented than them who's the center of everyone's attention and poured over by lots of attractive male adults.

Some people... *mutters*

not for children? huh? i watched those movies all the time as a kid. and so did my mom and my grandparents (who were children in Shirley's grandest heyday).

my niece loves her movies.

but yeah, that person sounds like a dumbass to me. ;)

Nuuu, I'm not saying children aren't supposed to watch them. Children watch a lot of stuff. And the movies are certainly suitable for kids. They're harmless fun. My point is, children aren't the targetted audience. Shirley Temple symbolized a dream. Didn't you notice how she never appeared next to other cute kids (or only very rarely) and how her male lead usually always ended up single or at least the other female character was negligible? It's all about her, the epitome of the perfect woman who has guys pouring all over her and it all stays clean and innocent because she's only a child. If she had only been a kids movie star she never would have reached such fame.

That's all I'm saying. Not saying that children never watched her movies nor that they shouldn't ^_~

oh okay. i get it now. ;) yeah i just love her movies. :D she always started out down on her luck and ended up with a happy ending. of course that was the whole point since her fame was peaked during the Great Depression so it makes sense.

HAHA! Just today I saw another stupid amazon review for Inuyasha dvds. They were going on about how people should buy the english dvds because they're so professionally done and all and how the japanese dvds suck because they're obviously recorded off tv with all that broadcast stuff in there etc etc etc. XD I'm just like: Oooohhh, sounds like somebody bought their "japanese" dvds from Hong Kong.
