I'd suggest defriending them if it's really annoying (if it's an LJ person), or just play with the delete button.

I tend to spew randomness at times. Sorry for clogging up your friends' page.

You're not it, don't worry. And I don't mind randomness. But I mind above mentioned things. And I couldn't help it since someone was quoting someone somewhere where I had no choice but to see it.

hm, i guess i can't really say anything since i'm one of those people. it's like a compulsion. i just can't help myself.

but if they bother you that much, why not just take them off your friends list? i think most people would rather you remove them than making you want to barf every time you read their entries.

well, in those kind of situations i just try to scroll past it before it gets the chance to register properly in my brain. ^^;
