Quest for Camelot...

I don't understand it. I really like this movie. It's so sweet. I love the hero, Garret, who's blind. And I love the fact that he stays blind and is just fine with it. I love the heroine, Kayley, who's a tomboy and misses her deceased father dearly. Her song "On My Father's Wings" always makes me shiver... And I like Garret's song, too. "I Stand Alone". And I like the dragons who need to get along. And Ruber, the bad guy with the nervous twitch. The movie is just very nice. Of course, it's not as well thought-out as a Disney movie and it has its weaknesses, but I still love it. I don't understand why so many people hated it. Especially when you consider the great actors who lent the characters their voices:

Cary Elwes as Garrett
Gary Oldman as Baron Ruber
Eric Idle as Devon, the Two-Headed Dragon
Jane Seymour as Lady Juliana
Pierce Brosnan as King Arthur
John Gielgud as Merlin
Gabriel Byrne as Sir Lionel

Oh, and Andrea Corr did Kayley's singing voice! ^_^ The music is lovely, too... This song is great, too. One of my favorite scenes, when Garret and Kayley admit their love for each other...

Looking Through Your Eyes
Quest for Camelot
Look at the sky, tell me what do you see
Just close your eyes and describe it to me
The heavens are sparkling with starlight tonight
That's what I see through your eyes

I see the heavens each time that you smile
I hear your heartbeat just go on for miles
And suddenly I know my life is worth while
That's what I see through you eyes
That's what I see through you eyes

Here in the night, I see the sun
Here in the dark, our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands, we can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise, looking through your eyes

I see a night I wish could last forever
I see a world we're meant to see together
And it is so much more than I remember
More than I remember
More than I have known

Here in the night, I see the sun
Here in the dark, our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands, we can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise, looking through your eyes
Looking through your eyes
While checking the lyrics online, I found out, that Leann Rimes did a version of this song, too. She has an extra verse in it that's really lovely...
I look at myself and instead I see us
Whoever I am now, it feels like enough
And I see a girl, who is learning to trust
That's who I see through your eyes
Happy sigh...
